Tanabata means "evening of the seventh" and it celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime (Weaving Princess) and Hikoboshi (Cow Herder) as they are represented by the stars Vega and Altair. According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month. "On the day of Tanabata, Miss Yamabuki tells the class a new version of the story of Orihime and Hikoboshi. Hikoboshi wants to marry Orihime, however the king doesn't approve and decides to test the cow herder by assigning him to be in charge of litter patrol for the whole universe."
