Also, certain Japanese words just can not be translated to English 100% correctly, so of course it is much better to leave them as they are.
Those "Lady", "Mr", "younger students", "hot pot" are so annoying
@Viktorius I seen some pathetic attempts to re-write instances where a char would not use a certain honorific till later in a show and these “fansub groups” would either ignore it or re-write it to something else losing it’s meaning and that’s just a start of their funimation inspired edit.
Here are the delocalization changes and a few other minor changes I found from diffing the scripts. There’s not much that many other edits, so just go for HorribleSubs if you don’t like these changes.
- Name order and honorifics
- Sis ⟶ Onee-san
- Big Brother ⟶ Onii-chan
- big/little brother/sister ⟶ older/younger brother/sister
- Koyo ⟶ Kouyou
- B-Bro… Big Bro… Ger… Ogre? ⟶ O-Onii… O-nii… Demon? (when Maika was trying to say Onii-chan but said Oni instead)
- Oto-ge ⟶ Otome gamse (misspelled BTW)
- card games ⟶ hanafuda
- folk dance ⟶ yosakoi
