Notes

Sorry for the delay — I put a lot more effort into this one and had some things come up irl.
Next episode might be later depending on the amount of signs and complexity of them, I might decide to upload a v0 without typesetting first or something, not sure yet.
I will v2/3 the first two episodes at some point with the improvements I made for this episode, like typesetting, script editing, etc.

Subtitle Improvements:

  • Applied subtitle styling
    • Font (Gandhi Sans)
    • Italics for inner dialogue, etc
    • Fade ins/outs
  • Fixed subtitle timing wherever it was off
  • Made many changes to the script using both officially and scanlated manga translations (Diffchecker)
  • Shifted certain dialogue to the top of the screen when necessary
  • Added actual sign styling/tracking
  • Added OP lyrics (romaji)
  • Added ED lyrics (romaji)

Would very much appreciate feedback, as it’s still mostly my first time doing this stuff.

Thanks. Nice work putting in some extra effort–definitely much better than the srts.

For some feedback:
03:01 - 03:13 would generally have no italics, unless you’re following like netflix standards, which eng fansubs dont
5:10 the But should be lowercase
11:59 shouldn’t be italics
11:59 (and a few others) probably don’t need the linebreaks due to how short they are
17:02 if you wanted to be a bit more picky with TS, before you apply the motion tracking, do you can something like \t(8453,0,\c&H000000&) and that’ll make it transition to black from 8453 milliseconds to the end of the sign, so it doesn’t end up looking too white
i think there might’ve been some other italics issues (like incorrectly applied, or not applied), but didn’t note them, sorry.

Also did you want be to keep sending this feedback, or nah? They’re all pretty minor things

Thanks! Yeah, the part at 3:01 I wasn’t fully sure whether to use italics there or not, thanks for clarifying.

I definitely appreciate the feedback if you are fine with giving it, only if you want to, though. Will probably end up v2-ing this to fix those issues and give it another look-over once I get done with v2-ing the first 2 episodes.

Thank you so much man! Nice work

Marked safe from cohorts this episode.
