We have performed a complete comprehensive color-correction for the entire series, including shot-by-shot white balancing of every single episode, global hue shifts, skin tone fixes, de-bleaching, and various other fixes. [Please see this document for detailed information on our color-correction process](https://andrewvanner.github.io/som/SoM_CC_Process_Day.pdf). ([Night Mode Version](https://andrewvanner.github.io/som/SoM_CC_Process_Night.pdf)). 2. Video contains all previously done fixes to the Dragon Box video include IVTC, decimation, PAR correction, chromatic aberration reduction, chroma noise reduction, chroma placement adjustment, and blocking treatment/grain retention. You can read more about what this means in the [merge PDF](https://jysze.github.io/SoM-DBZ-Merge/mergeproject/R1R2.pdf). 3. Due to the presence of new color-corrected detail, the average bitrate of each episode was increased. This was deemed acceptable as we are treating this like a "master" release. Others are welcome to re-encode the video as they wish so long as they give credit. 4. GT has 4 opening variations (2 animations and 4 different ED song credits), however OP2 and OP3 are of considerably lower quality on the DBOX due to being from a tape master. The OPs have been fixed for our release. 5. Please note that the GT Special has been white balanced, but it has NOT received a full color correction due to the quality of the original footage. ### [Comparison Pics](https://slow.pics/c/mdmat4Rw) -------- ### Audio | Episodes | Lang | Source | Source Media | Channels | Format | Provided by | Sync by |:---------------:|:---------:|:-----------:|:------------:|:------------:|:--------------:|:-----------:|:----------------:| | 1-64 | JPN | 2015-21 Broadcast Audio (BSFuji) | HDTV broadcast | 2.0 Stereo* | FLAC | HKB / Akai | Deli | 1-64, SP | ENG | 2008-09 FUNi "Remastered" Dub (Tokunaga Score) | Green Bricks | 5.1 Surround | FLAC | Nyaa | vanner64 | 1-64, SP | ENG | 2003-05 Original FUNi Dub (Menza + English Cover OP/ED) | Singles DVDs | 2.0 Stereo* | FLAC | N12 | iKaos | 1-64, SP | ENG | 2003-05 Original FUNi Dub (Menza + "Grand Tour" OP/ED) | HiFi VHS | 2.0 Stereo* | FLAC | SoM TC | Krycek7o2 / ZeroCool | SP | JPN | 2005 Dragon Box | DVD Box | 2.0 Stereo | AC3 | Nyaa | ergiman | SP | ENG | 2001 AB Groupe "Big Green" Dub | VHS TV Rip | 2.0 Stereo | FLAC | DBZImran | iKaos *Additional QC assistance provided by ergiman, Kaze, Johnster, FrostyGraybob, RedDeadEncode, CSManiac33, and AndroidxFusion.* **Notes:** 1. Japanese Broadcast Audio is sourced from BSFuji rebroadcasts that aired in Japan in 2015 and 2021. Episodes 1-4 are presented in dual mono to accomodate the stereo OP/EDs. Episodes 5-64 were broadcast in stereo and are presented as such. 2. The "Remastered" Dub with original Tokunaga score is retained as-is from our previous release. 3. The original FUNi dub with Mark Menza replacement score is presented in two different tracks - the first track mimics the presentation of the Green Bricks by including English language covers of the Japanese OP and EDs. The second track replaces the OP/EDs with extended versions of the "Step Into The Grand Tour" OP/EDs. This version has been replaced with HiFi VHS recordings for all 64 episodes. Note that due to some VHS tapes being of lesser quality than others, this track may contain some VHS pops and clicks and is presented more as a curiosity. 4. For the GT TV special, no broadcast audio is included as the Dragon Box audio is actually higher quality than usual. In addition, all FUNi dub DVD tracks are presented in 5.1 surround. AB Groupe's "Big Green" dub of the special is also included. ___________ ### Subtitles | Episodes | Style | Format | Timings | Styler |:--------:|:-------------------------------------------------------:|:------:|:-----:|:-----:| | 1-64, SP | Stylized OP/ED, OP/ED Credits, Titles, Inserts, and Dialogue | ASS | sangofe | corre / iKaos | 1-64, SP | OP/ED Credits, Titles, Inserts, and NEPs | ASS | corre | corre / iKaos | 1-64, SP | Basic Subtitles | SRT | Isaac | iKaos | 1-64, SP | English Dubtitles | ASS | OnionEclipse | iKaos | 1-64 | Japanese Subtitles | ASS | butler | iKaos | 1-4 | Animelabs Fansubs | ASS | Animelabs | brap *OP credits timed and stylized by dubudavid. ED credits timed and styled by Ploffy. Names and romanization contributions from AnimeAjay, dubudavid, corre, WPR, Johnster, Herms, and SaiyaJedi. Titles and credits re-colored by butler.* **Notes:** 1. Stylized subs are designed to mimic the look of the original Japanese text for all signs and onscreen text. Timings are based on those done by sangofe and GTeam. 2. The signs/songs track is meant for use with the English dubs and contains NEP translations. 3. If you don't care for stylized subs, then we have included a basic subs track as well. 4. Dubtitles are designed to go with the remastered dub, although they should mostly work for both FUNi dubs. 5. We have included Japanese subs for the first time, synced entirely by butler. 6. ED credits are included for the first time with each episode individually timed and styled by Ploffy. _______ ### Extras Most extras were ported over from our previous release. wtf the comments are gone edit: statement from SoM ![sourced from seadex](https://i.ibb.co/BTgv1c0/Screenshot-20240714-175643.png) And in case anyone was curious, here's the cancer comments that got deleted, starting from Titant's attempt at "true" color correction in Premiere Pro: https://rentry.co/5tt2kst5

I guess the guy above me took it upon himself to be my spokesperson but yes I don't care if people voice criticisms, but I'd rather not have the DB fan zoo come out in full force to shit on other people for stating an opinion. Either way we stand by the content we put out and hope people enjoy the release or use it to make their own if they don't.
Thank you Seed of Might.
dont worry ikaos ive got more one piece images to say how much i appreciate the quality of this release ![](https://i.imgur.com/XH2zHlz.png)
@iKaos you know for a fact that the problem is not in the criticisms of the fanbase, that you entitle as DB fan zoo, but the responsibles are the SoM zoo, a bunch of "yes-men" that are inserted in your team, that by having a title as "SoM member" think they can say whatever they want, that most of the time is insulting, thinking that people like you on the top of the food chain of the team have that kind of speech to respond to criticism. Most of those called SoM zoo, also a term you used a few times before, didn't do anything relevant regarding the releases, and they are inserted in the team just to bow down to the guys that actually do something to get this releases done. And with that, they think they are entitled to reply to the criticism on your behalf. And you chose those guys instead of "non-SoM members who directly contributed" to this and the previous and later releases. So just a advise for you, gather those type of people on the main server and "release them to the wild" or, if you really need them to bow down to you (which I don't think you need), "close the gates" and make the video guys respond the video criticism, the audio guys respond the audio criticism and the subs guys respond the subs criticism. And in my opinion, if the type of guys of the #general of the q&a server represent a little of what happens on the main server, that really got way worse compared to when I was there. Btw thanks for hard work of everyone involved for real on the release.
@iKaos Is this different from the [SoM] Dragon Ball GT torrent posted on June 26, 2024?
Good work team amazing what happens when we can work together .
@MiRT No, but the comments were removed due to some of the inappropriate responses.
Great release! Will get to this eventually whenever I rewatch the franchise. The GT Opening getting a 4K scan really seals the deal on this being above and beyond any fan release of a complete series on this website.
@JanSilver01 Thank you for your answer.
Again, absolutely phenomenal release! Can't wait for the DBZ CC release. Thanks to everyone who worked on this and made this happen.
It looks like the comments were removed after someone asked "why" the left and right were cropped. The answer given was that there are a lot of frames with nothing but black bars there, but there also a lot of frames with drawings. When asked why they decided to remove the drawings so the bars would be removed, the comments were deleted. SoM have a Q&A section on their discord. They also work on these releases all day. They also have jobs and may even have personal lives. They answer questions DAILY when they don't need to. It really takes a toll on your patience. So when asked a legitimate question, after illegitimate arguing, iKaos seems to have just gotten mad and nuked the thread. @iKaos I'm also curious. Now that things have settled down, why did you decide cropping eye pupils was better than leaving in small black lines that made the aspect ratio seemingly slightly change from time to time?

@DisplayNamee I literally said above that I didn't delete the comments because people asked critical questions, but rather because of the reactions to those questions. We cropped it to its proper aspect ratio as explained in our documentation since 2021, nothing has changed. The explanation is the same as it's always been. The previous comments are saved and has links to sites that talk about how PAR works but people don't care and just want to spout "crop=bad" because of their feelings so there's nothing else to really say on the matter. As I said before people are free to download whatever release they want.
Didn't really answer my question, so I guess I'll go find the "2021 documentation" lol
Don't worry, the 2021 documentation doesn't actually answer the question either.

This is another good explanation with pictures that may be easier to understand. https://x.com/seedofmight/status/1760487838548639935?t=pMNo00nB-VBSw9ULJRT0nQ&s=19
If anyone would like a more detailed overview, you should look at the comparisons here and you can see how much of the image was cut off on the right and left. https://slow.pics/c/9aDiqOWy Personally, I would have liked an uncropped version to be made available, but that probably won't happen. Very unfortunate.
While cropping is the most "correct" way to do it, do note that nowadays, you can handle all the cropping (and really, the anamorphic stretching too) on the container side, provided the viewer is using a relatively recent mpv build (as older versions just ignore the crop metadata). Then, if they *really* want to remove cropping, they can opt to run it with [--video-crop=0x0+0+0](https://mpv.io/manual/master/#options-video-crop). At that point, the viewer bites the bullet in regards to how much of the subbing work accounts for the crop being there, in exchange for seeing more of the image (that, as stated multiple times before, is not actually intended to be seen regardless of how much detail is there, but seems to be a sticking point regardless).
@LightArrowsEXE For me personally, it feels very strange when I play a video and know that theoretically I could actually get more from the image. I think the most important thing is actually to retain as much of the detail as possible. As you rightly say, you can also make certain settings in the player if you find certain areas annoying.
Personally, I think following the standard is more consistently correct. There may be random scenes that retain more detail, but those were still never intended to be seen, and in exchange, you're also stuck with all the scenes with faded duplicate edges and other production junk. That said, it's preferable to keep videos anamorphic regardless if the source was imo (since it means fewer resamples from the encoding side, resulting in overall fewer quality degradations), and viewers at least having the option to get rid of the cropping if you do that is just an extra bonus, even if I think you shouldn't remove the cropping personally.
When Gohan punches Bojack, the colors of the scene change, is there a way to leave the colors normal?
@The-unexpectable If you take a look at the many releases of various DB series over the years from different sources sometimes you'll notice that the cropping can be different from release to release, no release is truly uncropped from the film reels, while I think the cropping didn't necessarily need to happen it's minor in a way like the variance between other official releases (I think?), and frankly no one would have noticed without seeing it side by side, loss of detail is extremely situational and I'd maintain this is still the DeFacto way to watch GT because it ticks like, literally every box
do eva gt stinks
@SK91But if I go with the attitude that it doesn't make any difference whether I cropp something from the image or not, because I don't have the maximum image anyway, then I could say for any other release that it doesn't matter at all, whether I have loss of detail or not, because the material I get from the DVD or Blu-Ray is not lossless anyway because the real master has much more detail. I think if you have the possibility to keep much more from the image then you should keep it. But this is just my opinion.
Anyone know why I'm only showing, like, 1 seeder, though the top thing says nearly 100??? EDIT: Even that one seeder is now gone.
