This torrent contains 22 episodes of "Gekiga Hour Golgo 13 Series" (1971, TBS Eigasha). It is the very first video adaptation of the manga by Takao Saitō. For over 5 decades, this show was thought to be lost media until the film masters were recently rediscovered and aired on Japanese TV channel TBS in December 2023. I split the videos into the original 10 minute episodes. Because they aired grouped by two, and some are in 3 parts, there were videos containing 2 unrelated episodes parts. I also removed the introduction explaining the political context of the time. It was the same for all videos. I isolated it in the introduction video file. This was done with no reencoding. The script I wrote to generate the video files is available for you to inspect ("golgo13.sh", runs on Mac and Linux, not sure about Windows). The files come from [TVer](https://tver.jp/series/srvk53ygo8). There are TV recordings in higher quality but they have a TBS watermark, while the ones from TVer don't. For Plex users, I injected the original Japanese titles in the metadata and provided a poster file. In other words, putting this folder in your Plex library should get you a delightful experience out of the box. Make sure to enable “[Use local assets] (https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220717-local-media-assets-tv-shows/#toc-0)” in the libraries settings. Unfortunately, I don't have the airing dates for all the episodes, except for episodes 9 and 10 (檻の中の眠り). They were aired on the 12th and 13th April 1971 respectively. Episodes 21 and 22 (殺意の交差) are thought to have aired on the 6th and 7th September 1971, but this needs confirmation. ## What is missing? As the recent TV airing name implies (ゴルゴ 13 セレクション, Golgo 13 Selection), the TBS airing is not complete and only covers a few episodes (22 out of 130 produced). The remaining 108 episodes are yet to be made available.
