Finally, after over a year, Horny Council is back with another Dragon Ball release!!
Covering all 42 Full Color volumes with a new upscale and the OFFICIAL VIZ translations.
I'd like to address a few things:
Volume Naming Scheme:
I wanted to stray away from the arc naming scheme as it felt bland to me and left out some of the great Tankoban names.
Chapter titles:
The chapter titles are taken off of Kanzenshuu as well as using the font that the current VIZ run of Dragon Ball uses.
Corrected Panels:
You may notice instead of redrawing panels I simply warped the text. This was intentional because sometimes VIZ is outrageous with this habit and ends up cluttering
a page entirely.
Why did you do this when you already did one version of the Full Color manga?
After having looked back at the original Horny Council release I started to realize it's shortcomings and wanted to created one consistant release.
I started on this project about a year ago and intended it to be out within maybe 3 months. That obviously didn't happen. I'm not one to quit and I didn't
like that I had 20+ volumes sitting on my hard drive after half a year so I started the project back up.
To Tracksuit:
Due to personal issues I had used your volumes 1-4 as a base and included them into my release. I originally didn't want to and actually had reached out to you on Twitter
over a possible merging of projects/give you my completed work but as of writing it's been almost 4 days without a response. I am running out of time and wanted to get this
out before my work had gone to waste. For this I deeply apologize.
That's about all I needed to say about this project so thank you and enjoy the fruits of my labour.
wtf man... this is beyond fanboy, I really appreciate your effort, thanks a ton. For those that have read the viz translations, are there any part that has been wokefied? Hopefully not, but in 2023 you never know.

About your naming scheme... we pretty much has a 'standard' here on nyaa.
`Dragonball Ball - Full Color v01 (Horny Council)` would've been suffice and actually works with our scripts and library software.

@Rilliant, yes, but censoring doesn't just apply to images but text, also. Although I don't know if in this particular case that's true, that's why I asked. I'm just saying, I encountered "they" pronouns in recent re-releases of old mangas done by Viz and it kinda irks me that they changed the original material.
i mean the only real "issue" with viz is when they do those vizism things
i cant remember many off the top of my head, but making piccolo talk like a weirdo for the "Z" manga, but normally for the regular db manga was something that just seemed strange to me
@TheOneThoughNerd I just don't want/need modern politics nor politically correct changes in decades old manga, specially not in Dragon Ball. We all know japanese people are prone to innuendos and lewd comedy/jokes and I don't want that experience ruined by american double standards: where you can watch a man get decapitated on TV but can't show female nipples, so to speak. But hey, you can continue to try to insult me, that will surely will make me change my mind.
@exiledmind Don't worry, Viz still uses the same adaptation that was done by a pedophile two decades ago, so you're in the clear. Although I must warn you that this manga features a furry as World-King so it may not be for you.

Thank you, these are sick and the quality seems to be better than the fan translation pack plus it also has the missing pages from volume 10. It will be nice to have both of these in my hard drive.

@exiledmind: It all depends of the "why" things are changed. If the creator intended a character to have no gender, so not male of female, of course they will use "they" in translation. If it's done because a blue haired intern, hopped up on anti-anxiety meds and avocado toast, decided it was best because the voices on Twitter/X told her to... Not so much. Sadly this does happen, and it shows an enormous disrespect for the artist and the material. It's good to speak out when it happens, because it does help.
@BakaTheThird as I stated, I'm talking about decades old manga where all this nonsense about "gender/identity politics" didn't exist. In modern manga, i can understand the pandering to minorities with serious mental illness, otherwise they will scream at their screen until they're out of breath, and no one wants their pointless death on their conscience. On a serious note, it really bothers me too, the disrespect to the author that may or may not be still alive today and will probably never know how they changed their work for no reason at all.
@Rillant, I'm pretty sure no one in japan refers to a single human individual as they/them, at least not in 20+ old manga. Although I had a quick look at the list of pronouns in the wikipedia page and didn't find more than one type whereas for the rest are always more than one for formal/informal/depending on the situation, etc. So maybe the one that isn't well informed is you, think about it.
@iKaos, already read the whole manga in b/w decades ago, so I'm no sure what you mean by "furry" since that term is most used by people wearing a suit instead of actual anthropomorphism.

@exiledmind not to get too deep into this... but you do know that they and them are way older than this gender politics right...? Because if you need to refer to a person or a group of people of unknown gender you refer to them with they or them, it is not only reserved for "those" kind of people which it feels like you are implying here.
But on another note, why is nobody talking about upscaling? pronounces be damned but man upscaling is the real evil here. /s

@XRA9 yeah, that sounded weird to me too, like, ticking bomb kinda of weird. He took like 6 months to finish what he started and then for some reason he was running out of time.
@Oakminati, don't give me that crap, unless you are blind you can surely and positively identify if someone is a man or a woman just by looking at the person. No reason to use they/them when you actually know what that person looks like, and of course you would use it with groups of people, no matter the sex, there's no actual alternative for that in english nor in japanese as far as I know. Although. now that I think about it, some types of manga tend to use androgynous looking characters, but then again, no chest no woman. So as far as I know, I've never encountered a they/them until recently, and like I said it was a re-release of a well known manga Urusei Yatsura.
I just asked because I usually go to mangaplus (which is basically VIZ for europe) to see if there are new chapters of some manga and so often I see Dragon Ball re-edition chapters, that's why I wondered if they changed something that it's not gonna make me kill myself but just go "ugghh not this crap in here, please". The last time I read the b/w version it probably was fantrasnlation.
Anyway, I really don't care for comments calling me names or trying to mock me, I just don't want to download 26 gigs of woke garbage. End of discussion from my end.
