It has been a while since our previous release, and this time we’re going back to something we’ve done before.
Our previous release was based on the Japanese R2 DVDs, and it was time for an upgrade. It is still the same master, but it looks a lot better now given the higher resolution.
Sadly it still has some scenes here and there from older master(s), but I think this Blu-ray is as good as we’re going to get.
And yes, it’s 8 bit avc. I couldn’t get it to look better with hevc, and 10 bit avc is a waste of money/energy, especially around the time it was encoded.
Special thanks go to tenkenX6 and juggen for helping on the previous release this is based on, and ninjacloud for helping out on this release as well.

"and 10 bit avc is a waste of money/energy,"
How is it a waste of money? What money?
tyroz (uploader)
You have free energy?
ts92
You have free storage?
tyroz (uploader)
I do, but I know you don’t, hence the small size :d
DmonHiro
How does encoding to 10bit use more energy/money then 8 bit? This makes no sense.
herkz
never tested but i can’t imagine 10-bit really impacts encoding time. however there’s not much benefit for grainy anime.

bro has never paid an electricity bill in his life, my god
sit your white ass down and listen. 10 bit uses more money/energy than 8 bit

>using hwdec in current year

We’ve reached a point where even the carbon footprint of encoding matters, lol.

Yes, and we also plant one tree for every completed download.
Simplistic
you encoding on xeons?

10 bit avc is an incompatible meme codec, 8bit can be played nearly on any device.
zetsu_shoren
^ what device are you even using if not a pc for watching anime lmao
if you’re using a media player just sell it you neanderthal
otherwise just be a shitflixfag so you don’t need to worry about your encoding preferences 😂
Radio
Hi10 really is pointless these days due to incompatibilities and the existence of HEVC.
If you actually care about energy, do consider that a smaller release (HEVC) means some more time spent on encoding on one computer, but also less time spent per user downloading the release.
herkz
compatibility arguments are pretty worthless since most setups that can’t handle 10-bit can’t handle the complicated subtitles either
most HEVC releases are bigger lmao

Who the fuck cares if 10bit isn’t supported by devices? It’s better for anime then 8bit.
And Radio, you’re saying that people who do this for free should spend even MORE time and energy so that leeches can spend LESS? Fuck that.
nx6
Amazon Fire Stick 4k/4k Max can play Hi10p. Just putting that out there.

what a very heated comment section for such a nice release
thanks op

Yes, this is the real difference between 8 and 10-bit :D
You’re welcome. :)

Only non-white people ever pay energy bills? South Africa says hi.

Thank you~ But the download speed is too slow…

Lol avc 10bits is useless now. Welcome hevc and AV1. @https://nyaa.si/user/zetsu_shoren I am not speaking for myself dumbass, i got devices that can decode that meme codec. I speak for the majority that have a TV, a TV Box, a blu-ray player, etc.
