Animal 1 Original Soundtrack (1968) アニマル1 オリジナルサウンドトラック =================================== What is this? ------------- The anime TV series "Animal 1" (1968, Mushi Prod.) never had its soundtrack released on CD, or any other media. But thankfully, some of the BGMs were made available when the series was released on DVD in 2004 ("Animal 1 DVD-Box", release date: 23/06/2004, code: XT-1573~7). I extracted the 23 tracks from disc 5 and converted them losslessly to FLAC. They are in the folder called "アニマル1 オリジナルサウンドトラック (Animal 1 OST)". On the DVD, each track has a different picture with its title and an illustration. These pictures are in the "Images" folder as raw PNG files. I also extracted the OP and ED songs, short versions, from the DVD themselves and added the long versions ripped from the disc 4 of the "21世紀に遺したい アニメソング大全 ミレニアムボックス" CD box set (release date: 19/07/2000, code: TOCT-24381~6). These 4 tracks are placed in "アニマル1 ソングコレクション (Animal 1 Song Collection)". The cover image was found on Apple TV's website via a Google Images search. What's missing? --------------- As mentioned above, only part of the BGMs of the series were made available on the Japanese box set. According to the booklet, only the characters' themes were found. Action musics are noticeably missing. The OP and ED songs both have covers by different artists on media released by Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd., but I don't have any CD with them, so they're not part of this torrent. Why are the sound levels different? ----------------------------------- The BGM sound volumes are a bit low. For the sake of preservation, I decided not to apply any processing to the files. If you compare them with the OP and ED songs' long version, you'll hear that these 2 have louder volumes. Hopefully, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
