It's literally not a translation. That's the problem. The line is just "Nanda kore wa?" which literally just translates to "What's this?" Or "What the heck?". It's that simple. The problem again is the localization in place of actual translation.

These are actual subtitles and they are in English. Zyuran is an old man who tries to be hip with the kids and fails. Saying "what the fudge" is perfectly in line with his character. While this example is mild, the way Japanese language and culture are structured means that sometimes what the literal words are that are spoken do not align with the intent of the statement and would carry the same meaning when spoken verbatim to people in a more direct language like English. Translation is not one-to-one or we coulld just use Google and we wouldn't need real people interpreting the dialog for us.
