Video looks okay, but the audio is pretty awful on the dub. Listen to the songs while rotating the audio to hear the massive quality drop. The dub has the same quality drop during the episodes.
Also, no song subs for season 1 at all. I appreciate the effort, but this isn't a good version for dub watchers. Sub watchers might not like the missing s1 song subs.
Season 2 seems solid though. No issues for anyone looking to snag a compact encode for that season.
@sff I'm sure there's something to that, but I have 2 other versions of this with ACC dub audio & both sound noticeably better. Although 1 version has no op/ed songs at all during the episode playback. The songs are in the playlist and subbed, but are separate from the episodes with no ordered chapters. The other version is from Cleo with no song subs either, so >_<
I'm not trying to be a mean about it. I appreciate your work, and season 2 really is solid. Just wanted to give s1 dub watchers a heads-up. This show is better in Jap anyway so no real issue for me other than song subs, which my other encodes have issues with also. ✌
@martinxk go DL a jap version then, what are you doing here ? just spreading the hate for eng dub ? useless trash. Do you see me or anyone else going to Jap torrents and complain that the encode sucks because it has no eng dub ?
@CorallineAlgae thanks for the heads up, the Cleo version sounds miles better (for the eng dub), so i'm getting that instead, shame it has no chapter markers. The Cleo version is Stereo/2CH while the AnimeTime version is 6CH, so maybe the 6CH version was just made badly. Unfortunately MediaInfo doesn't tell me the bitrate, so i had to extract the 6Ch audio track and it seems to be around 130kbps which is also what the Stereo track from Cleo's encode has, so yeah the encoder made a boo boo and crammed 6 channels in the same space you would use for 2, there was no way that was gonna sound good, even for 2 channels 130kbps is on the low end.
@sff if there is a Stereo english track on the BD, please consider redoing the encode using that or increasing the 6CH bitrate to ~500kbps.
