The first DVD release by ADV Films was the eight disk Perfect Collection in 2002, containing the original 26 (ON-AIR) installments.
AUDIO:ENGLISH,SPANISH,FRENCH AND JAPANESE.
SUBTITLES:ENGLISH SUBS.
DOES NOT INCLUDE THE DIRECTOR’S CUT.
THE ORIGINAL DIRECTOR’S CUT ARE ON TWO SEPERATE DISCS,
Neon Genesis Evangelion:Resurrection and Neon Genesis:Reborn, encompassing the directors’ cuts of Episodes 21 through 24.
THESE DIRECTOR’S CUT VERSION ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THE RENEWAL,PLATINUM AND BD RELEASES.
THIS IS NOT THE REMASTERED VERISON.
THE REMASTERED VERISON IS THE 2003 JAPANESE RENEWAL,
AND THE 2004+ ADV PLATINUM SERIES.

NTSC or PAL version?
ADV back then released it in U.K., too.
I’m kind of nostalgic for this release as it was my first NGE set.

Can you explain what is the NTSC or PAL version?
NOT sure what it means.
I bought this in the USA back in 2006.

They are TV standards. Anime is produced in NTSC so if you release in UK which is PAL you need to convert it to PAL. He was asking because probably the PAL sets were bad.

You don’t necessarily need, but it was (still is) the standard. U.K. has a few NTSC DVDs though I couldn’t tell which they are.

Are these ADV subs the same as used on the ADV VHS releases, or a later, but still pre-Renewal revision?

Thank you so much for sharing this! Any chace you have Resurrection and Reborn as are willing to upload those as well? Would be great to have the non-Renewal DCs of 21-24.
