Video encode: [VCB-Studio](https://nyaa.si/view/1184376) BDrip untouched. Check their main Haruhi torrent page for screens/comps. Audio: opus ~192 converted from VCB's 2ch flac. Jap only. Subs: [a.f.k./Delicio.us](https://nyaa.si/view/923319). Resampled to 1080p, synced because some episodes would randomly be 1 second off, re-processed dialogue timing because scenebleeds were spiking my ocd, plus some more manual timing edits. There's probably still a few bleeds here and there I missed. Other than dialogue timing nothing else has been touched. Chapters and fonts included. I recommend using mpv because of the heavy typesetting in certain sequences, but the subs are old so they probably work correctly with other players/subtitle renderers aswell. --- If it wasn't clear before this is the broadcast order, aka the right order ;^) Please post in the comments if there's any major issue.

Aaaaactually "broadcast" order is wrong. Correct order is "Chronological"
Vcb encodes are blurry. Delicio.us is better than vcb.
chronological order is always the wrong order never listen to weebs
Is it okay if I use your subs for my release?
Wait does this follow VCB works or did you changed it as well?

@TheNightSkies not my subs so do as you please lol I merely retimed them a little bit. @SomaHeir not sure what you mean but the episode order should be the same as in this torrent by vcb https://nyaa.si/view/1184376
@HowUnfortunate Hey I made my own release some weeks ago and released it a few days ago, but then noticed something that rather bothered me so I immediately took it offline again. I tried to fix it myself but I have almost no experience when modifying subtitles. In the credits scenes, often the overlaying translated text does not properly cover the original Japanese text. I was able to fix this for one episode by placing a black square behind the text. But on all subsequent episodes, the black vector keeps appearing infront of the text rather than behind. Perhaps you can fix this issue? I tried but alas. The issue is least noticeable with the MPV player (tried MPC, VLC and MPV) but still noticeable.

Ok I see what you mean, I didn't even notice it because I mostly skipped OP/EDs once i knew everything was synced. Sadly no, I don't have any decent typesetting knowledge. However, if a text appears behind when it should appear in front, I think all you should do is change its layer value in Aegisub. Higher layer value will be in front. Personally I'm not gonna fix all these small issues myself. Also it's kind of a slippery slope. The original delicious subs have tons of small issues (especially in the 2009 episodes).
@HowUnfortunate Hmm yes I see what you mean. Perhaps it is better to let it be, I'm probably being too nit-picky anyway. Thanks for the layer value tip though, I'm sure it'll come in handy with some other situations I might encounter. Do you actually have one or two timestamps of scene-bleeds that you fixed? I'd like to see it for myself so I can get better in recognizing it, always trying to improve myself :)

I don't have the original subs anymore so I'll make just one concrete example. Episode 1 of 2009 season (8th in their chronological release https://nyaa.si/view/923319 ). 12.37 to 13.08, while Haruhi and Kyon talk the scene keeps changing from him to her. Basically none of those lines were snapped to the scene changes and -- while I think most watchers won't care -- I found the result pretty awkward to watch. So in my release every dialogue line starts and ends at the scene changes. While in general the 2006 episodes only had a few single lines here and there ending a bit too soon/late, the 2009 episodes... ugh. Instances similar to that one I mentioned were common, plus a few entire dialogue sections had pretty bad sync with the actual voices as if everything was shifted like 1/4th of a second ahead. Which is weird because the typesetting is still pretty high effort so I don't see why the dialogue timing was so bad. (P.s. it's not better in Elysium or CG subs). By the way, don't let my sorta verbose explanations make you think that I have any deep knowledge of subbing (lol). All I know is second hand from friends who actually do fansubs. This was just a little 'project' of mine because I like the original series and no one had really made a public release with VCB's good new encodes
Well you definitely have a better understanding about it than me ^.^ Thanks for the example, the more I learn the better I can make my own releases!
@mad_le_zisell terrible take, smooth brain
