Why does everybody and their mother try to see how small they can “re-encode” the raw bd video and audio to (short for totally fucking it up)-is it some kind of a shitting contest or something? It’s really fucking stupid.

smaller file size = faster download times and less storage consumption

if you have the luxury to afford high storage consumption and a longer download time, then download the raws and get an srt, no one’s forcing you to watch reencodes
