Om my god! Its done! A manga accurate cut of Naruto! Thank you so much Yellow-flash!
Dragon Ball Recut, One Pace, and now this. I love the fans who do this type of stuff :)
Thanks again!
Thanks for this. Rare that a project dead for years finally gets completed.
The old fansubs were very bad, so I don't consider this "cuttng corners" by picking them, and in fact wish you'd used them from the very start. Will miss the nice timing, but that's far less important to me than a competent translation and well-written English.
Congrats on finishing.
The very first line in Episode 1 has a typo, plus random commas everywhere and typesetting is meh.
Episode 2 won't play at all in mpv, has no audio in MPC-HC.
The only player that can actually handle this broken file is VLC and even then, there are no subs.
How can this be v3 yet be so broken?
Wave: Just testet playback of episode 2 fine with mpv.net-portable-x64-5.4.8.0, smplayer-portable-20.4.2.0-x64 and MPC-HC v1.9.1 (e4a6154c0) + LAV Filters v0.74.1.31-git
Could you check that the CRC matches with the CRC in the filename?
RyzakiT: Went with FLAC as the DVD R2J's contain WAV/PCM audio and dropped Ordered Chapters due to compatibility problems with non-pc devices and streaming solutions like Plex and Emby.
Geekoloji: No, these are encoded from the R2J DVD Boxset (001-135).
There’s already dvdrip for Naruto shippuden, [SOFCJ-Raws] Naruto Shippuuden 001-053 (DVDRip 768×576 x264 VFR 10bit AC3 and English subs from crunchyroll need to be synced with it, if its not synced already
Thank you for this, but why can't I download it? It's been sitting in my torrent client with multiple peers for two weeks now but with %0 progress.
Am I missing something?
For anyone with the same problem as me, I was using Deluge and I switched to qBittorrent and the issue was resolved, I don't know what was wrong with Deluge tbh.
@finix14 if you check the uploader blog, they explain the project and how it came to be here : https://yellowflash9502.wordpress.com/2020/05/15/naruto-release/
For answering your question, because it's all filler, not canon. All the following episodes are not included due to being filler episodes: 26, 97, 101-106, 137-140, 143-219
In this release https://nyaa.si/view/385196 "Naruto Season 1-9 (2002) [Dual Audio] [BlueDragon][A-A] [DVDRip] [SD 480p]" have "English, 192 kbits, 2.0, AC3" for episodes 1 - 130 and "English AAC 48.0 KHz 2.0 stereo 128 kBit/s" for 131 - 220 episodes.
For manga cut (1-130) ac3 + (131-135 + 220) aac.
Ac3 is the best audio source format in English I've found so far. In that release (https://nyaa.si/view/385196) there are ac3 from episode 1-130 (I didn't find Ac3 from 131-220) and aac 131-220 (which I suppose was less re-encoded, considering the date of the release, 2012-12-20).
Something that requires further research is the existence of releases with different levels of bitrates, however the mentioned source is the most consistent one I have found so far.
Because [Yellow-Flash] and English dubbing have different lengths and arrangements (I suppose English dubbing is based on DVDR1, instead of DVDR2J like [Yellow-Flash]), encoding both requires adjustments to be made.
