Default is Japanese subs, It does have English Subs that contain quite a few errors (typos and such), along with at least 1 missed line and at least another that is timed so short that you can't read it unless you pause the video. All that in addition to being a skinny white subtitle on a lot of white/bright backgrounds making it hard to read when they are there.
as for the movie itself, then ending was nice and sweet, but the whole time leasing up to it (basically the whole movie) I was like "WTF is this". whoever it is that created it and actually approved to do the movie and did it had to have been on a serious trip the whole time, The movie was colorful, but not a lot of sense was made.
