For this release we used FuktLogic's release as a base and heavily edited it, fixing up terms and consistency issues present in the base subtitles. The OP has gotten a new translation and fancy styling, and the ED was edited too. TS is on the light side and mostly only covers important (and easy-to-do) signs. We're looking for interested TLC's and typesetters to help out with this (and potentially other) series! Please don't hesitate to contact us if you're interested in helping out. We're recruiting talented translators, typesetters, and timers! Contact LightArrowsEXE#0476 on Discord if you are interested. Check out our [Discord server](https://discord.gg/dk7aadV)! If you have playback issues, use [mpv](https://mpv.io).

Time to watch, thanks.
@luv_3 I'm not your father
I hope the Fate/Babylonia project is not stalled.
Not @ me or anyone else helping me out with this, @random_bigInteger
>1024x576 I'm not at home so I can't check but I'm pretty sure that you're using the wrong aspect ratio.
Seemed like a clear 16:9 show to me, especially when also comparing to the 1080p BDs and the size it scales to when played back (with it being anamorphic and whatnot)
I'm almost certain that it's supposed to be 872x480 or in your case 1046x576.
Is there a reason you believe that? (besides there being black edges which plenty of other 16:9 anime have too, even nowadays)
Small correction: It's actually meant to be played back at 873x480
Unfortunately I already encoded all of it, so I won't be changing it. However, if you feel like correcting it and bringing your own encode out, my script is [up on github](https://github.com/LightArrowsEXE/Encoding-Projects/tree/master/%5BKaleido-subs%5D/Completed/Higurashi%20no%20Naku%20Koro%20ni%20%5BBD%5D) for you to tinker with.
ffprobe shows that the DAR is 20/11. So ~873x480 or 872x480 because 4:2:0 chroma subsampling only allows mod-2 resolutions for progressive content.
Yup, I just verified that for myself. I stand corrected. Unfortunately, unless everything slows down to a crawl and I have a lot of free time available, I won't be re-encoding them again until possibly a final batch (assuming I get around to doing Kai, too). This is in part because of the time it takes to encode, and more importantly the typesetting needing to be redone. Regardless, I'll keep note of it. Thanks for the head's up. EDIT: Well never mind, a friend offered to encode it on his server, and I've already fixed it in every script. Will be fixed for the 2nd arc and onwards, and fixed for the 1st arc in batch.
Ofc this comes out right when tsundere finished it Thanks light lmao
SHIT, this show was literally a nightmare !!!
@LightArrowsEXE Wow, I visited the GitHub page out of curiosity. Found out that you guys are actually coding in Python to do this! That's pretty cool actually <3
Yeah @random_bigInteger, although to be more precise Python is used as the scripting language, using VapourSynth. There's plenty more examples of my scripts in that repository, and there's also discord communities that exclusively use it and talk to each other about it, like [eX's server](https://discord.gg/ZB7ZXbN) for example.
Didn't WA chat die with the Venezuelan autoencoder scam?
