Great collection, thanks!

thanks. did you compare the video source to other groups like beatrice-raws?

@Scyrous: Yes. What’s important is that ReinForce’s aspect ratio is 1920x1080, which allowed me to fit subs outside the animation frames.
@noZA_: It’s a bigger and better version of that one.

Thank you very much

Thanks! Any chance of just getting the sub files?

@uberasian: Sure, I’ve added a link in the description!

@EdoPhantom

Thanks! It’s too bad that your version is for 1920x1080, instead of 1920x816. I guess there’s no way around it?

@EdoPhantom
Sorry I didn’t clarify better I meant sub-wise is it the same as https://nyaa.si/view/951021 ? Since it also says version 2

@uberasian: I personally prefer the 1920x1080 version, since that’s what was shown in theaters. My theory is that the director intentionally sandwiched the animation between black bars to give it a “flashback” vibe, since Kizu is a prequel to the main series.

@noZA_: Ah, I see why you’re confused. I’ll change the wording… Basically, THIS is version 2 and has better subs than the one you linked.

alright thxs for the reply.

from the pics and torrent description, it seems its gonna be a very good experience
except replacing Japanese wordplay. This means its not translation but localization. Characters may say one thing but subtitles say something completely different.
Much rather have original wordplay with English example of similar one as a TL note.
Huge minus from me for that one, since Monogatari series is all over that stuff.
ill be watching it sometime later when i start from bakemonogatari again

Since nobody else bothered to make a tiny patch to spare many others the trouble of downloading ~16GB again, I created one and added detailed instructions. Get it here.

Thank very much for the trilogy! :3

is the sound in this 5.1 ?
i can only hear the background music

Here are comments giving more release details posted by [Edo] on the Nyaa.pantsu torrent, but not posted here for whatever reasons:

All three brilliant movies packaged together with new English subtitles. If you have my previous works, I urge you to replace them with these; subs have all been updated.

Please enjoy, seed, and support the official release. Any questions, comments, or concerns: message me on Reddit or post below. Initial seeding may be slow due to file size. 720 coming soon, but I recommend this 1080.

Includes: * 1920x1080 raws from ReinForce * Original subs not taken from the novel or other groups * Chapters with cool-sounding titles * Font attachments (Rosario Bold and Yu Mincho Demibold) * Screencaps: http://imgur.com/a/m78CP (spoilers)

Features: * Balance between sounding natural and maintaining the original context * Kiss-Shot using Early Modern/Shakespearean English (details below) * Japanese-style names (surname first, honorifics) * Translations of all relevant Japanese texts and signs * Karaoke subs for ending themes

Translation Note: In the original, Kiss-Shot speaks with a mix of archaic and modern Japanese. To mimic this odd speech pattern, I had her use a light version of Shakespearean English: thou = you (subject), thee = you (object), ye = you (plural), wilt = wilt, art = are, you get the idea. I did NOT, however, give her “-st” or “-eth” suffixes (wouldst, maketh) to avoid confusion and to save space. Hope that made sense!

v2 is so much better than the normal version, thanks!

The subs are much better than other releases, they seem more accurate without being too literal. Thanks so much for this! Would you ever consider subbing any more of the series?

@Praisethevillain: Thanks for the praise! Admittedly, I’ve learned so much in the last two years that even these subs don’t seem good to me anymore. I also worked on Zoku Owarimonogatari, but I have no plans to redo any part of the series that already has or will have an official translation.
